Larkya La — the 5,106 m pass nobody warns you about
Manaslu Circuits high point. The climb itself is straightforward — the descent is where ankles go.

Larkya La sits at 5,106 m between Dharamsala (4,460 m) and Bimthang (3,720 m). Most parties leave Dharamsala by 03:30 and reach the pass between 09:00 and 10:30.
The descent
The west side drops 1,386 m in roughly 6 km. Loose moraine for the first 400 m. Ankle injuries here are the single most common reason weve had to call HRA Manang.
Trekking poles are mandatory, not optional. Plant-test each step on the upper moraine.
