Most "lodge contact" lists for Nepal treks are agency lead-magnets — generic, partial, or stale. This is the most-comprehensive verified Mardi Himal lodge directory online, organised by camp, with the phone numbers our ops team rings before sending groups up the ridge. Use it to call ahead in October when High Camp fills by 14:00, or to confirm a Low Camp room before the long second day.

How to use the directory

Call 1–3 days ahead in peak season (Oct + Apr). Most lodges accept phone reservations for foreign trekkers; Nepali trekkers traditionally walk in and pay cash. Mention your party size, expected arrival time, and whether you need a private bathroom (NPR 300–500 upgrade). Don't expect a confirmation number — Nepali lodge culture is honour-system.

Most numbers ring on Nepali Telecom (NTC) — international callers use +977. Format examples: +977-61-696883 (Pokhara landline) or +977 9846087626 (mobile). Drop the +977 if calling from a Nepali SIM.

If a number doesn't connect. Try the second number — most lodges have 2–3 active numbers, mobiles rotate. If all fail, the lodge is still there; just walk in.

What you should expect when you call

  • "Hello?" in English, then Nepali. Most lodge owners speak basic English; if not, hand the phone to your guide or text in Nepali.
  • The owner books your room verbally. No confirmation number, no email. They write your name in a notebook.
  • "Hot shower?" is the second question. Yes (NPR 200) means a gas-heated bucket. No means cold water — at altitude this is genuinely punishing.
  • Payment is cash on departure. NPR only above Pokhara. ATMs do not exist on the Mardi trail.

When NOT to call ahead

Off-season (Dec–Feb, Jun–Aug). Most lodges have empty beds. Calling actually slows the process — better to walk in, pick the room, and pay on departure.

If a lodge has closed

Some lodges shut Dec–Feb (too cold, no business). Some shut after a season for renovation. The trail has enough redundancy that you'll always find a bed — but if you specifically want a named lodge, check current operating status by calling 1 week before.

Bottom line

The Mardi Himal lodge network is small enough to fit in a single blog post. 22 lodges across 9 camps, ~70 phone numbers, all field-verified by our ops team in 2024-2025. Save this post offline before your trek — call from your Pokhara hotel the morning before you start.

Plan your trek with the Mardi Himal trek planner; the 4-day weekend plan tells you which of these lodges you'll likely use; the sunrise playbook is the High Camp lodge morning.
